[Frameworks] Cellular Cinema Podcast!
Hello Frameworks! Due to the quarantine, we've transformed our monthly Cellular Cinema screenings into a podcast series, which you can find here: https://www.patreon.com/cellularcinema. The format is an hour-long conversation with a filmmaker about three specific films from their catalog. Episodes of the podcast itself will be free to the public, but subscribers, for a small monthly fee, will get access to private links to the films being discussed. Three episodes are posted - Travis Wilkerson, Kym McDaniel, and Kevin B. Lee - with two more in the next two weeks - Roger Beebe and Sabine Gruffat. After that we'll probably be slowing down to a bi-monthly or monthly schedule. We're also interested in recommendations for future guests. All the proceeds from subscribers (minus the small Patreon percentage) will go to the guest artists we interview. So if you can, please subscribe and share to support these artists! [Frameworks] Super-8 refurb camera vendor?
Hello frameworks! I'm applying for a grant to equip our mobile studio with enough super-8 cameras to run small workshops, like 5-10 total. Can anybody recommend a store or individual that sells reliable, fairly basic but still manually controllable refurbished super-8s? I would love any tips for better ways to find these than ebay. And I'm not interested in the new Kodak ones that are digital & film at once. Thanks for your help! Feel free to contact me either through the listserv or offline via email. -Kevin Obsatz www.cellularcinema.org ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
[Frameworks] Cellular Cinema Mobile Studio & Microcinema
Hello Frameworks! After a year and a half of successful experimental film and video programming in Minneapolis, Cellular Cinema is hoping to expand its offerings to include workshops and masterclasses hosted out of a vintage, towable art trailer. Since we already have fantastic artists coming through town to screen their work, it makes a ton of sense to invite them to engage with our community as teachers and mentors as well! This will also contribute to the cash compensation that we can offer our guests. We are trying to raise $3800 for the trailer itself and some basic modifications, to make it work as a mobile darkroom and screening space. We would love to have your help spreading the word about this effort, and of course contributing, if you can spare a few bucks! Thanks so much!
