Re: [Frameworks] film/art for the deaf (Dan Anderson)

2018-08-24 Thread M Stoltz
Hi Dan!

I would look at Alison O'Daniel's ongoing project THE TUBA THIEVES,
particularly the restaging of the last punk show at the San Francisco Deaf
Club (with Joel Schliemowitz as Bruce Connor!). Much of her prolific output
relates to sound, sign language and hearing abilities
https://alisonodaniel.com/Video-Excerpts

and Caroline Key's SPEECH MEMORY
https://problempictures.net/artwork/3457456-Speech-Memory.html

I am sure there are many more works of interest, but these two come to mind
immediately as I sip my coffee.

Re: [Frameworks] FrameWorks Digest, Vol 93, Issue 1

2018-02-01 Thread M Stoltz
Hi Jon! hi everyone

The Scoopic MS camera has been retrofitted to run off of 10 AA batteries. I
always use fresh batteries and have shot many films on it at this point
with no problems. The last couple of rolls have had a bit of flicker in
them, even though I am using fresh batteries, manual exposure, and running
at 24fps.

Recently the footage has a flicker where the image gets dimmer, it seems
like an irregular motor speed though rather than slowing down and making
the image brighter it looks like it is speeding up and making the image
darker than the proper exposure. Not sure if that is possible or if it's
another issue but maybe you or someone else on this list has seen this
behavior.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice and/or hunches

[Frameworks] Canon Scoopic MS Repair

2018-01-31 Thread M Stoltz
Hi All,

I am looking for anyone with a reputable contact for repairs on a Canon
Scoopic MS. Southern California area is preferred but would be willing to
ship for someone who does good work on these models.

Thanks in advance
