Re: [Frameworks] Stephen Partridge contact info: and/or a question about Monitor

2016-05-18 Thread Simon Payne
Dear John,
You can probably reach Stephen Partridge via his email address at the
University of Dundee. I have always seen the diagonal line as the far edge of
the table that the monitor is sitting on, so I'm intrigued by your suggestion
that it's something more complicated.
Best wishes,
Simon Payne

[Frameworks] Sequence no.4 Call for Proposals

2013-10-13 Thread Simon Payne

Sequence is an artist-run publication devoted to contemporary film and video
art, published by no.w.here in London and edited by Simon Payne. It aims to
promote and disseminate ideas and current debates concerning new work,
primarily from the perspective of its practitioners. Articles take the form of
essays, interviews, statements and artists' pages. Content can be speculative,
discursive, critical, opinionated and experimental.

We are currently inviting proposals for Sequence #4. In the first instance
please send brief proposals (300 words) and images (if appropriate) to
a...@no-w-here.org.uk by the 11th of November for consideration.

Guidelines: Contextual essays, interviews etc. addressing contemporary film and
video art (no longer than 4000 words). Artists’ pages are usually one or two A4
pages. Finished articles will need to be submitted by mid March. Sequence #4
will be published in June 2014 to coincide with no.w.here’s 10th anniversary.

The first three issues of Sequence have included pieces by: Rob Mullender,
Sandra Schäfer, Helga Fanderl, Peter Gidal, Takahiko Iimura, Adam Kossoff,
Sarah Pucill and Margherita Sprio, William Raban, Karen Mirza and Brad Butler,
A.L. Rees, Maxa Zoller, Lis Rhodes, Cathy Rogers, Samantha Rebello, Jeff Keen,

Sequence receives no external funding, no.w.here subsidizes the design and
printing, editorial costs are met on a volunteer basis, and no.w.here does not
generate any additional income from Sequence sales. Therefore unfortunately we
are unable to pay contributors.

Sequence is on sale at a range of bookshops and galleries including Tate
Modern, the BFI Southbank, Koenig Books (Whitechapel Gallery), the LUX online
shop and direct from no.w.here.

Please send your proposals to Assistant Editor, Alexandra Symons Sutcliffe:
