Re: [Frameworks] Super-8 refurb camera vendor?

I seldom find a Canon 514XL or 310XL that doesn't work!
Buy 6 of them if you need 5, just to play safe, you can find them pretty
cheap on ebay.

Hey Kevin,
We are lucky enough to work with Christophe Goulard who refurbishes
Nizo super-8 cameras.
He fixes them up, even adds new features, sells them through us and
guarantees them for 90 days.
One of the new features is an ASA dial so you can use the built-in
light meter whether you are shooting 25 or 500ASA stock. Another is
for the larger cameras, rewiring the light meter power to the AA
battery supply so you no longer need the 625PX batteries.

A list of current available cameras is here.

All the best!

2016-06-08 Thread Lee Murray
Do-All Camera in NY sells refurbished S8 cameras
for less than Pro8mm but they don’t have a Ronda Cam-like option. Pro8mm
refurbishes cameras on order and adds some updated features tailored to their
film stocks. Do-All sells what they have on hand and will refurbish your camera
if you sent it to them. I paid $125 for a Nizo 561 micro on eBay and eventually
sent it to Do-All for an over-hall. I paid $300 for the fix and shipping. I now
have a $425 camera that would cost $500 or $600 already fixed. so far so good.
the points of failure of S8 cameras are old battery terminals and an electronic
exposure meter that has to be clean and calibrated properly to manually set the
aperture. I’d contact Do-All and ask them what they'd think about refurbishing
a whole box of cameras for a workshop.

Pro8mm of Burbank CA. sells a refurbished Canon 310 under the name
"Rhonda Cam". Cost is about $400. You get a rebuilt camera and a limited
warantee, something you can't really get any more. Plus they can repair
it if one breaks.

you may be looking for a seller like this-

http://www.super8camera-shop.com/

only problem is when they find cheap used cameras to sell they sell out
pretty quickly...

Hello frameworks!

I'm applying for a grant to equip our mobile studio with enough super-8

store or individual that sells reliable, fairly basic but still manually
controllable refurbished super-8s?
