RE: adding HTTP remote control

Hate me, sue me, whatever.. but this is what I would *LOVE* to see. Ya know
thoes lil apps that sit in the IE5 window like the news bar, and stuff?
Well theres a little program that lets you leave comments on webpages, and
it sits in a little rectangle on the side of the IE window.. I would love to
see the controls in a small window like that..

Should this be done by

 * implementing a new "httpui" and running this in parallel to any other
   ui?
 * ...or should it be a built-in feature of the Player class?

Comments?

and, yes, I already have a somewhat kludgy (win32) implementation allowing
remote control (play/start/stop/volume/song selection) of freeamp via your
favorite browser.

the best way to do any kind of thing like this is thru the UI interface.

Nope. Not till gcc-3.0, from what I hear. That's when the libstdc++ rewrite
should _hopefully_ go in. Just stay away from string streams for now =)

A lot of folks, I for one, are comfortable w/ classic C++ and not modern C++
(the ISO standard and libraries). These are two fairly different beasts.

would you mind taking a look at the code in question and at tweaking it to work on
linux?
