Re: Re: Power OFF button on very old motherboard with FreeBSD 7.2

2010-05-03 Thread newuse
Hello, I unfortunately have no FreeBSD 4x installation now, but I have find
something like I have:
http://old.nabble.com/ACPI-error-td22756817r3.html
but I don't understand how to use it :((
I am real new in FreeBSD and any other *nix system :((

 Hallow, I am new in any mailing lists and I unfortunately don't know how to
post as a followup :((
 But ther is an error in dump:
 # acpidump -t
 acpidump: Can't find ACPI information

 I think it is because the dump is not supported by my kernel :(

Hmm, does acpidump work under 4.x? We have to be able to find the ACPI tables
to support soft-off via the power button.

  Can you try booting with 'hint.apic.0.disabled=1' set in loader.conf?
Also,
  if you could obtain a full dmesg that would be helpful.

 Can you please get the output of acpidump -t and post it to the mailing list
 as a followup?

  Thank you, I add hint.apic.0.disabled=1 (without ) to the end of
 loader.conf, now it looks like:
  acpi_load=YES
  apm_load=YES
  alias_ftp_load=YES
  hint.apic.0.disabled=1

Re: Asus M2N32 sli deluxe acpi_themal problem (ACPI Warning for \\_TZ_.THRM._PSL)

 Hi,

   MOBO: Asus m2n32 sli deluxe wireless edition with bios version 2209.
   FreeBSD: FreeBSD home.here 8.0-STABLE FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE #20: Tue Apr 27

   I would like to use acpi_thermal(4) passive cooling feature.

   However, hw.acpi.thermal.tzo.temperature reports incorrect temperature. It
 always return 40,0C regardless of the value I get from other sysctls:

 dev.acpi_aiboost.0.temp0: 550
 dev.acpi_aiboost.0.temp1: 390
 dev.amdtemp.0.sensor0.core0: 39,0C
 dev.amdtemp.0.sensor0.core1: 42,0C

I had the same problem with an Asus A8N-E MB. It was easily fixed in
the ASL.  See:
