Replacement of Supercomputer @ Home in Singapore Due to Motherboard Malfunction
Subject: Replacement of Supercomputer @ Home in Singapore Due to Motherboard Malfunction Good day from Singapore, Section A: Old Supercomputer Bought on 30 August 2015 = I had bought the following computer components on 30 August 2015 (confirmed date), which is slightly more than 4 years ago. [1] 5th Generation Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3 GHz 15 MB LGA2011(V3) (140W) SGD$530 [2] MSI X99A SLI Krait Edition USB3.1 LGA2011-3 DDR4 MAINBOARD SGD$439 [3] Kingston PC4-2133 8 GB DDR4 DIMM (KVR21N15D8/8) SGD$90 [4] ANDYSON AG-SERIES 650W 80PLUS SILVER (5YRS) SGD$95 [5] Coolermaster Hyper 103 CPU Cooler SGD$68 Grand Total: SGD$1,222.00 (on 30 Aug 2015) Section B: Malfunction of MSI X99A SLI Krait Edition Motherboard on 23 Oct 2019 Wed === Symptoms: When power is supplied, there are LED lights on the motherboard. However, the power supply unit fan, casing fan, CPU fan, and GPU fan keeps spinning up and down repeatedly forever. The RESET LED on the motherboard also turns on and off repeatedly forever. Troubleshooting Steps: 1. Removed all existing DDR4 memory sticks on the motherboard. Insert brand new G.SKILL DDR4 memory stick. Symptoms persist. 2. Use another known working power supply unit. Symptoms persist. Conclusion: The MSI X99A SLI Krait Edition motherboard, which has been in service with me for slightly more than 4 years, is now dead. Credits: Troubleshooting is performed by a computer shop in 4th story of Sim Lim Square in Singapore, because I don't have the necessary spare parts to troubleshoot. Troubleshooting fee is SGD$30. Plus Grab fare from my home to Sim Lim Square is SGD$20. Section C: Buying Brand New AMD Ryzen 3 3200G processor, Gigabyte B450M DS3H SOC motherboard and Transcend 2666 MHz 8 GB DDR4 DIMM on 23 Oct 2019 Wed = On 23 Oct 2019 Wednesday, I bought the following *replacement* computer components. [1] Gigabyte B450M DS3H SOC AM4 ATX DDR4 MAINBOARD SGD$113 [2] AMD Ryzen 3 3200G 3.6 GHZ AMD (VEGA 8 GRAPHICS) SGD$138 [3] Transcend 2666 MHZ 8 GB DDR4 DIMM JM2666HLB-8G SGD$58 (bought on 24 Oct 2019) Notes: My previous 1X Kingston DDR4-2133, 2X Crucial DDR4-2133 and 1X Crucial DDR4-2400 memory sticks are not compatible with the new motherboard, according to the computer shop. I am reusing the MSI GeForce GTX1650 4 GB GDD5 GPU video card and other peripherals in my computer casing. Grand Total: SGD$309 (on 24 Oct 2019) Conclusion: Windows 10 Home Edition 64-bit version 1903 is working beautifully without needing to reinstall the operating system after a complete overhaul of supercomputer hardware. Remarks: For the past 13 years after graduation from National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor's degree (Second Class Lower Honours) in mechanical engineering, I have NEVER had a stable and permanent job because I am a TARGETED INDIVIDUAL (TI). A Targeted Individual is a person who is persecuted, targeted, and marked by the [Singapore] Government. Covertly and subtlely, the Singapore Government does not allow me to have a stable and permanent job earning high PMET salaries like $8000 or $9000 a month. For the past 13 years after graduation from NUS, I was *frequently* fired/terminated from employment or forced to resign. I am always *struggling* to find part time/temporary jobs earning $7-$8 per hour. As a result, I do not have much personal savings. When another Singaporean flaunted he has $354,000 in his bank account, I only have less than $1000 in my bank account. I can also recall that The Straits Times reported that a Singaporean housewife was cheated of some $700,000 some time ago. When my home supercomputer failed, I can only buy the cheapest AMD Ryzen 3 processor and the cheapest AMD Socket AM4 motherboard. Singaporean Mr. Turritopsis Dohrnii Teo En Ming is the poorest university graduate in the world! I SIMPLY LOVE TO FLAUNT MY POVERTY! Running BOINC Project (SETI@home) for 48 Hours Killed My Galax GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB GDDR5 GPU
Subject: Running BOINC Project (SETI@home) for 48 Hours Killed My Galax GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB GDDR5 GPU Good day from Singapore, I bought my Galax GeForce GTX1650 4 GB GDDR5 GPU on 29th September 2019 Sunday. REFERENCES: [1] http://lkml.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/1909.3/04148.html [2] http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-chat/2019-September/029039.html [3] https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-chat/2019-September/007361.html [4] https://lkml.org/lkml/2019/10/1/200 [5] http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-chat/2019-October/029040.html [6] https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-chat/2019-October/007363.html At the time of this writing, it is 5th October 2019 Saturday. Over the past 48 hours, I have been running BOINC project (SETI@home) on my Windows 10 Home Edition home desktop computer. This morning, my home desktop computer suddenly gave me a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with the error code: "Windows System Exception". I thought my Windows 10 had become corrupted. ***Every time Windows 10 boots up, it would show me a BLANK SCREEN after a few seconds.*** I have tried the following resolution methods for about 2 hours on a Saturday morning but NOTHING worked. 1. I tried to perform Windows Startup Repair but it would not run. 2. I tried to start Windows in SAFE mode but it would show me a BLANK SCREEN as well. 3. I tried to start Windows in SAFE mode with Networking but it would show me a BLANK SCREEN as well. 4. I tried to start Windows with low video resolution but it would show me a BLANK SCREEN as well. 5. I tried to start Windows with Driver Signature Signing disabled but it would show me a BLANK SCREEN as well. 6. I tried to run "sfc /scannow" on a command prompt but it would not run. 7. I tried to uninstall Windows quality updates but it would still show me a BLANK SCREEN. 8. I tried to uninstall Windows feature update but it would still show me a BLANK SCREEN. 9. I tried to perform System Restore but Windows would still show me a BLANK SCREEN. In short, none of the resolution methods which I have tried above worked. Exasperated, I tried to reset Windows 10 while retaining personal data. After resetting Windows 10, I *successfully* booted into Windows with a Basic Microsoft Display Adapter Driver. Then I tried to install NVIDIA drivers. When NVIDIA drivers started to load, my Windows showed me a BLANK SCREEN AGAIN. At this point, I realized that my Galax GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB GDDR5 GPU has been killed/fried by BOINC project (SETI@home). On 5th October 2019 Saturday afternoon, I took my Galax GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB GDDR5 GPU to the 4th story computer shop in Sim Lim Square in Singapore for a 7-day 1-to-1 exchange, citing that the Galax GPU has malfunctioned. The shop keeper gave me a MSI GeForce GTX 1650 Ventus XS OC 4 GB GDDR5 GPU as replacement but I have to top up SGD$10. When I brought the replacement MSI GeForce GTX 1650 Ventus XS OC 4 GB GDDR5 GPU home, I plugged it into my home desktop computer and Windows 10 booted up *SUCCESSFULLY*. I proceeded to reinstall NVIDIA drivers again. Everything went well and everything is working fine now. Conclusion: BOINC project (SETI@home) fried my Galax GeForce GTX1650 4 GB GDDR5 GPU after 48 hours. Now I am actually afraid of running SETI@home again for fear of frying my replacement MSI GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB GDDR5 GPU again. Question: Will BOINC project (SETI@home) be able to work towards ensuring that it will not fry anyone's GPU again? I had my whole Saturday wasted. It was only Saturday evening when I returned home and got everything working again. Thank you very much. Since the year 2015 or perhaps even much earlier, it used to take me a very very very long time to upload combined and rendered videos to YouTube after recording them. Because of my poor finances I couldn't afford to upgrade to a 10th generation Intel Core processor computer system or buy a far more expensive gaming video card (typically costing SGD$1000 or more), even though I am a good university graduate from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Diploma in Computer Networking from Singapore Polytechnic. With effect from 29 September 2019 Sunday, this lingering problem has been resolved with my brand new SGD$230 Galax GeForce GTX1650 4 GB GDDR5 video card with hardware encoder. -BEGIN EMAIL SIGNATURE- The Gospel for all Targeted Individuals (TIs): [The New York Times] Microwave Weapons Are Prime Suspect in Ills of U.S. Embassy Workers Link: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/01/science/sonic-attack-cuba-microwave.html Singaporean Mr. Turritopsis Dohrnii Teo En Ming's Academic Qualifications as at 14 Feb 2019 and refugee seeking attempts at the United Nations Refugee Agency Bangkok (21 Mar 2017) and in Taiwan (5 Aug 2019): [1] https://tdtemcerts.wordpress.com/ [2] https://tdtemcerts.blogspot.sg/ [3] https://www.scribd.com/user/270125049/Teo-En-Ming -END EMAIL SIGNATURE- On Mon, 30 Sep 2019 at 02:16, Turritopsis1 Dohrnii1 Teo1 En1 Ming1 wrote: > > Subject: Galax GeForce GTX1650 EX-1 Click OC PCI-E 4 GB GDDR5 128Bit > Video Card Improves 4K Video Rendering Speeds by LEAPS AND BOUNDS! > > Good day from Singapore, > > I have just bought a Galax GeForce GTX1650 EX-1 Click OC PCI-E 4 GB > GDDR5 128Bit with/Display Port/HDMI/DVI-D/CoolingFan video card for > SGD$230 (after some bargaining) at a 4th story computer shop in Sim > Lim Square in Singapore,Singapore on 29th September 2019 Sunday > Singapore Time. > > Prior to buying the above-mentioned video card, I was using the > Sapphire AMD Radeon HD6450 video card. Galax GeForce GTX1650 EX-1 Click OC PCI-E 4 GB GDDR5 128Bit Video Card Improves 4K Video Rendering Speeds by LEAPS AND BOUNDS!
Subject: Galax GeForce GTX1650 EX-1 Click OC PCI-E 4 GB GDDR5 128Bit Video Card Improves 4K Video Rendering Speeds by LEAPS AND BOUNDS! Good day from Singapore, I have just bought a Galax GeForce GTX1650 EX-1 Click OC PCI-E 4 GB GDDR5 128Bit with/Display Port/HDMI/DVI-D/CoolingFan video card for SGD$230 (after some bargaining) at a 4th story computer shop in Sim Lim Square in Singapore,Singapore on 29th September 2019 Sunday Singapore Time. Prior to buying the above-mentioned video card, I was using the Sapphire AMD Radeon HD6450 video card. Rendering a 2-hour 4K video with this ultra cheapo video card (GPU acceleration of video processing TURNED OFF) took MORE THAN TEN (10) hours! The technical specifications of my ancient and primitive home desktop computer are: [01] 5th Generation Intel Core i7-5820K Extreme Edition Processor with 6 cores and 12 threads @ 3.30 GHz [02] MSI X99A SLI Krait Edition Motherboard LGA2011-3 Socket with Intel X99 chipset [03] 32 GB DDR4 Memory (Mixture of 4 sticks of Crucial and Kingston DDR4 memory sticks) [04] Windows 10 Home Edition version 1803 64-bit [05] Vegas Movie Studio 15.0 Platinum video rendering software As of 30th September 2019 Monday Singapore Time, Intel Corporation has already released 10th Generation Intel Core processors. I am truly very sorry that I am not able to afford upgrading from 5th Generation Intel Core processor systems to 10th Generation Intel Core processor systems. Hence I have to make do with buying Galax GeForce GTX1650 EX-1 Click OC PCI-E 4 GB GDDR5 128Bit video card for SGD$230 at the moment. After removing the Sapphire AMD Radeon HD6450 video card from my home desktop computer, I installed the brand new Galax GeForce GTX1650 EX-1 Click OC PCI-E 4 GB GDDR5 128Bit video card immediately. Upon booting up Windows 10 Home Edition, I quickly turned on GPU Acceleration of Video Processing in Vegas Movie Studio 15.0 Platinum. I would choose all 4K video rendering templates with "NVIDIA NVENC". >From Wikipedia: [QUOTE] Nvidia NVENC is a feature in its graphics cards that performs video encoding, offloading this compute-intensive task from the CPU. It was introduced with the Kepler-based GeForce 600 series in March 2012.[1][2] The encoder is supported in many streaming and recording programs, such as Wirecast, Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) and Bandicam, and also works with Share game capture, which is included in Nvidia's GeForce Experience software.[3][4][5] Consumer targeted GeForce graphics cards officially support no more than 2 simultaneously encoding video streams, regardless of the count of the cards installed, but this restriction can be circumvented on Linux and Windows systems by applying an unofficial patch to the drivers[6]. Professional cards support between 2 and 21 simultaneous streams per card, depending on card model and compression quality.[1] [/QUOTE] And WOW! Rendering a 2 hour 19 minute 4K Ultra HD video (taken with my Samsung NX500 4K camera) with Galax GeForce GTX1650 EX-1 Click OC PCI-E 4 GB GDDR5 128Bit video card took only 3 hours and 30 minutes!!! This is a vast and tremendous improvement from the past of taking MORE THAN 10 hours to render a 2-hour 4K video without any GPU Acceleration of video processing! What do you think would happen if I am able to afford upgrading to a 10th Generation Intel Core home desktop computer? Greetings from Singapore! -BEGIN EMAIL SIGNATURE- The Gospel for all Targeted Individuals (TIs): [The New York Times] Microwave Weapons Are Prime Suspect in Ills of U.S. Embassy Workers Link: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/01/science/sonic-attack-cuba-microwave.html Singaporean Mr. Turritopsis Dohrnii Teo En Ming's Academic Qualifications as at 14 Feb 2019 and refugee seeking attempts at the United Nations Refugee Agency Bangkok (21 Mar 2017) and in Taiwan (5 Aug 2019): [1] https://tdtemcerts.wordpress.com/ [2] https://tdtemcerts.blogspot.sg/ [3] https://www.scribd.com/user/270125049/Teo-En-Ming -END EMAIL SIGNATURE- ___ freebsd-chat@freebsd.org mailing list https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-chat To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-chat-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"
