Someone forgot to commit it?  Its in /sys/conf/options.i386.

'options PAE' turns it on.  Without it turns it off. :)

I'm confused; how does one disable PAE?  I don't see a kernel option for
it.

That's good to hear.  The re@ folks at devsummit had said that even
w/o PAE enabled, bad things were happening to people.  However, I've
seen a number of reports since then that contradict this, or that the
instability isn't that common.
