libexecinfo?
We had a recent issue with libiconv now being included in base, thus rendering the port superfluous. Does a similar situation exist with libexecinfo? Then I can safely do as I already have; i.e. remove the libexecinfo package and recompile those affected. To clarify, it is not the same code, but provides exactly the same interface.
