5.1 mfsroot floppy broken?

2003-10-23 Thread JacobRhoden
Hi,

I have been trying to get an install of 5.1 using the floppies made off the
5.1 ISO, and it seems they are broken. Has anyone else successfully achieved
an install using the boot disks?

Regards
 - Jacob

Further Details:
After booting, custom install, and then selecting cdrom/dos
partion/floppies as the media, you receive the following error:

Error mounting /dev/xxx on /dist: No such file for directory (2)

(Just replace xxx with the media you have selected)

ucom not in MAKEDEV in 4.8-STABLE

2003-08-14 Thread JacobRhoden
Hi People,

I was wondering, is there a reason why the 4.8-STABLE version of MAKEDEV does
not have the ability to generate ucom. (I was wondering because I have to
back port a bit of code on every machine I want to do it on).

Thanks,
Jacob

usb (ucom) driver code comments..?

2003-07-29 Thread JacobRhoden
Hey,

I am trying to get a device working which uses ucom, and the ucom code has no
comments whatsoever, I am able to work bits out, I was wondering if there was
any sort of documentation whatsoever on this area?

Thanks,

Its an Intel 82801DB (ICH4) according to dmesg. I have attached the dmesg
output below for reference. You can see at the bottom, when you plug a
device in you get an error message from uhub[012]. If theres any more useful
things I can attach let me know! (: I dont know enough to go hacking around
in uhub.c but I may try if I get desperate! (:

Intel D845EPT2 Motherboard - USB broken :(

2003-07-13 Thread JacobRhoden
Resending: realised I should indicate I am using 4.8-STABLE (Freshly compiled)

Hey People,

Does anyone here use the Intel EPT2 motherboard? Have they managed to get USB
working, and if so how? Any ideas greatly appreciated! (Or where to poke at
would be useful as well).

usbd -dd prints messages as if it is all working fine, but it simply does not
recognise any device you chuck at it.

Thanks,
Jacob

I would very much like to be able to use the multimedia keys on my keyboard as
well (has bugged me for a long time now.. that next/previous track keys for
xmms are kind of nice in Windows). Could I please have the ported showkey as
well (: (I am happy to do some kernel hacking / testing) if it means I can
get my keyboard working properly.

It would probably be easier to just port the showkey command from linux (:

This should do it:
g++ scancode.c -o scancode -lncurses

But it doesnt seem to detect the multimedia keys anyway, just the normal 101
keys. (Not on my keyboard anyway)

Have you accounted for an ethernet header on top of the ip packet? It has been
