thx for the hint. this man page describes the build system from the
user's point of view i guess. what i am looking for is more the
developer's / release engeneer's / SCM responsible's point of view (e.g.
How are dependencies formulated ?)

Build System Doc

hi,
is there any doc available describing how the fbsd build process /
system for /usr/src and /usr/src/sys works ? 

i googled a bit but have not found any useful doc. i had a short look to
/usr/share/mk but i guess reading makefiles could be a bit difficult to
get the big picture.
