Right. In the meantime hosts has been implemented in nss-pam-ldapd but currently does not work (at least on 9). It's been the author's concern too whether services/protocols etc is a needed feature, but I guess you won't find that out until you provide the feature. At least it seems logical to me to keep the nss_compat interface synchronized with the APIs that call nsdispatch. I guess I'll make patches for both. -- Mel ___ freebsd-hackers@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-hackers To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-hackers-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"

I don't know for sure, but it seems that there was no need to support anything besides groups and password when nss_compat.c was committed. At that time, IIRC, the modules that we had in ports supported only these databases. -- Michael On Thu, Jun 7, 2012 at 2:43 PM, Mel Flynn wrote: > Hi, > > I'm currently implementing support for more NSS databases in > net/nss-pamd-ldapd and I've started to wonder why there's only the group > and password support in lib/libc/net/nss_compat.c? > > Is there a specific reason for it or is this a classic case of "patches > welcome"? nss compat shims
Hi, I'm currently implementing support for more NSS databases in net/nss-pamd-ldapd and I've started to wonder why there's only the group and password support in lib/libc/net/nss_compat.c? Is there a specific reason for it or is this a classic case of "patches welcome"? I wasn't able to determine the reason from the commit log. -- Mel ___ freebsd-hackers@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-hackers To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-hackers-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"
