Urgent: pwlib library issues
Hi, This is regarding pwlib library. This library is used by our application and we have an old version of this library( we actually do not know the version) which contains the symbol GetNumberValueAt strings libpt_FreeBSD_x86_r.a | grep GetNumberValueAt | grep PAbst GetNumberValueAt__C14PAbstractArrayUi GetNumberValueAt__C14PAbstractArrayUi GetNumberValueAt__C14PAbstractArrayUi GetNumberValueAt__C14PAbstractArrayUi GetNumberValueAt__C14PAbstractArrayUi GetNumberValueAt__C14PAbstractArrayUi GetNumberValueAt__C14PAbstractArrayUi GetNumberValueAt__C14PAbstractArrayUi Now we have to port our application to 64 bit 6.1 freebsd machine , so we downloaded pwlib library for this version of freebsd but it does not contain the symbol GetNumberValueAt . Because of this we are unable to build our code and facing linking problem(undefined reference to this symbol). Could you please let us know that which version of pwlib library contains this symbol GetNumberValueAt and where from to get the source code of that version. Also which version of pwlib (compatible for 6.1 freebsd , amd64) contains this symbol GetNumberValueAt or any other symbol which substitute this symbol. -- Regards Mayank Jain 9818390836 www.mayankjain.110mb.com -- Regards Mayank Jain 9818390836 www.mayankjain.110mb.com ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
wxPython 2.8 port
Neal, porters, Is there any work in progress on a port of wxPython 2.8 ? I've tried to quickly hack one by copying x11-toolkits/py-wxPython26* to the corresponding x11-toolkits/py-wxPython28* directories, changing version to 2.8.4.0 and `make makesum`. Everything worked quite well through the build stage but installation failed. It seems that it was because of some changes in configure script that resulted in py-wxPython28 being built with unicode support. I didn't pursue this further, but it seems that creating the ports should not be very hard. Sorry for not providing any patches. -- Andriy Gapon ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: alpha proposal: port options
Hi there, Could you also include a radio-like option in addition to the checkbox-like options ( http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/porters-handbook/makefile-options.html#AEN2476 ) This is useful for ports like eclipse where you need to specify either gecko or firefox or mozilla etc. or texmaker where you would preferably be able to chose acroread, xpdf etc. ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I tried to make a port some time ago but unfortunately wxPython uses features not present in wxGTK 2.8.0. As soon as that port is updated then it should be straight forward to make a port. Unfortunately I'm in the middle of a house move so I don't know if that has happened yet. When I get DSL sorted and the old house painted (strange German rules) then I can look into it again. Sorry everyone for the prolonged delay in getting the latest wxPython ported. ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: Urgent: pwlib library issues (GetNumberValueAt functions are gone)
According to the (partial) history of this code, the functions were eliminated in April 2003: http://www.openh323.org/~openh323/cvsweb.cgi/pwlib/src/ptlib/common/contain.cxx.diff?r1=1.130r2=1.131 Touched as we are by your belief, that FreeBSD is in a position to help you with the third-party's code, we are not :(. Most likely, you will have to study the diff to understand, how to modify your code to avoid using these functions in favor of whatever replacements are made for them by the PWLib's authors. If you still have problems, you may need to contact the authors (CC-ed). It is quite confusing, that the openh323.org site is stale, and the project is currently SourceForge-hosted: http://openh323.sourceforge.net/ https://sourceforge.net/projects/openh323 Yours, -mi P.S. Steve, do you mind if I change the port's pkg-descr to point there? Keeping /dev/dsp in digital out mode?
Hi, All of my systems are connected to a home theatre amp via an analogue connection except for one, which used an optical connection. Unsuprisingly, the digital connection sounds better (less noise etc). Has anyone experimented with keeping the output in digital mode all the time? You are looking at HEAD, not at RELEASE_4_EOL. See below for what that is, but here's the URL: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/archivers/unrar/Makefile?only_with_tag=RELEASE_4_EOL * You're running FreeBSD 4.9, which is no longer supported (and not to mention is very old even in comparison to 4.11). * You continue to update your ports tree using a ports cvsup file that contains tag=. on a 4.x box, which is a bad idea. There *will* be breakage, and more and more ports under tag=. are having their 4.x support removed. You will find many of them do not build, and even portions of the ports tree infrastructure to fail or break or behave in odd ways. Your options are: - Migrate your boxes to RELENG_6. - Use tag=RELEASE_4_EOL and re-cvsup promptly. You will probably also need to clean up leftover files in /usr/sup (if you use cvsup) or /var/db/sup/ports-all (if you use csup). Before doing the cvsup/csup you may also need to rm -fr /usr/ports and start fresh. If you choose the second option, you will not have the latest ports -- yes, that is one of the drawbacks. But the RELEASE_4_EOL tag was made at the final point where all ports worked on 4.x, and any succeeding updates were not guaranteed to work. Case in point. * The FTP masters do not have a package for unrar-3.7.6 on 4.9-RELEASE and never will (see above). I can tell you from the one 4.x box we still have that the last guaranteed working version of unrar for 4.x is 3.60. Here is the appropriate $FreeBSD CVS tag from ports/archivers/Makefile, for tag=RELEASE_4_EOL: # $FreeBSD: ports/archivers/unrar/Makefile,v 1.46 2006/08/17 01:46:32 ache Exp $ Compare this to tag=., which is: # $FreeBSD: ports/archivers/unrar/Makefile,v 1.55 2007/06/19 10:28:40 sat Exp $ fetch: RARunrarsrc-3.7.6.tar.gz: No such file or directory Attempting to fetch from ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/distfiles/. fetch: ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/distfiles/unrarsrc-3.7.6.tar.gz: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access) This is because the FTP masters do not have the sourceball yet. It will be taken care of in time. -- | Jeremy Chadwickjdc at parodius.com | | Parodius Networking http://www.parodius.com/ | | UNIX Systems Administrator Mountain View, CA, USA | | Making life hard for others since 1977. I'm sorry to hear that... I'm updated gcc 4.1 to the latest version and recompiled oo.org 2.2.1 - now i can save files... -- Oliver Lehmann http://www.pofo.de/ http://wishlist.ans-netz.de/ ___ freebsd-ports@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-ports To unsubscribe, send any mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
