directly, I'm going to keep it updated and if necessary will upgrade the RootBSD VPS it's hosted on. Why not redirect the feed to feedburner? It's a free server from google, fast furious. On the flip side, it does add one more link in the chain, and even a strong link is capable of failure on occasion. The feed caching also adds a (small) delay on updates. I've used FeedBurner on all my feeds for years, and I have no complaints. FWIW, I'm a member of the RSS Advisory Board, and I don't recall anyone ever complaining to us about FeedBurner's compliance. As of my tests HERE, if cupsd.conf.N exists and if the contents of cupsd.conf get changed through CUPS web interface, the following happens - cupsd.conf.N is renamed cupsd.conf.O So, as of my tests, any change in cupsd.conf via the CUPS web interface will then result in pkg_create -b cups-base-1.4.4 to fail because it can not find any cupsd.conf.N anymore. [CFT] Cleaned up editors/emacs-devel and editors/emacs
Hi everyone, I've updated editors/emacs-devel to bzr snapshot, and cleaned up the port, and also tried to, but not tested yet, resolve a long-time pending issue[1]. I've also updated editors/emacs port to add CANNA support contributed by Yuji TAKANO, and cleaned it up in a similar way. Going through some of my old OCR uses, I could the subject listed port out of date and the URL referenced in the pkg-descr is non functional. Create bootstrap binaries for openjdk
Hello, For people who try to install openjdk, they saw that we need to install an other available jdk like diablo-jdk which is really painful to install from ports since we need to fetch one million of distfiles manually. What NetBSD' pkgsrc done is making availables binaries for bootstrapping, I would propose this idea too then the port will not depend on the non-free and painful diablo-jdk. Bootstrap binaries should be done for FreeBSD 7.x release and 8.x release for i386 and amd64 architecture, then the port will be able to download the bootstrap binaries from official FreeBSD ftp servers. I like much this idea, and if you agree on I will send a PR with patches for it, but since I don't have FreeBSD 7.x version I would like someone to make binaries for i386 and amd64.
