again, ports that stop daemons
Can I again suggest that ports that stop their daemons on deinstall should (MUST) try to (re-)start them upon install? Or that they simply quit doing that and instead print a message like Port X is deinstalled but it may have some processes running, please do Y and/or Z to find them and/or stop them. We've seen some much better solutions being proposed (configurable behavior, etc), but their implementation would take some time and the current status quo is a real PITA. Please welcome beat@ to portmgr@
We are pleased to announce the addition of Beat Gaetzi (beat@) to the team. Beat, like many others was a long time contributor prior to receiving his commit bit in 2009. Beat is well know for his work with the Gecko and Vbox teams, in addition to his hosting of test/development repositories for many of our community members. Beat's next unenviable task will be taking us through the rocky road ahead in migrating the CVS Ports repository to Subversion. Please join me in welcoming Beat to the team. Congratulations Beat! Hello, Trying to update from KDE 4.7.2 to 4.7.3 on FreeBSD 9.0-CURRENT #0: Tue Jul 19 16:18:20 PDT 2011.
