The update of lang/opa requires ocaml 4. I don't know if the current
version of lang/opa will working with ocaml 4. If it doesn't build
then don't worry about it. You guys can go ahead mark it as BROKEN if
you don't know the fix. I will update it and remove BROKEN when I can.

Hello everybody,

it might be
a good idea to provide an overview of all packages installed on your
system
(e.g. a /usr/sbin/pkg_info -Ea).

Attached to the e-mail you can find the config.log file and the pkg_info list.
I saw the port marked as broken, now it seems it isn't, but still it isn't
working.

Does anybody have a fix?

Good idea. I just committed an update that adds an option to turn off
the installation of the bundled plugins. Just run 'make config' and
uncheck the PLUGINS options. Then reinstall.

Right. Well, as long as the in-program method works I guess that's
survivable. It ought to respect LANG as well, but I can't quite find
the motivation to explore why it doesn't...

I tried this version and succeeded to install on 9.1R.
But I miss symlinks etex and lualatex in /usr/local/bin,
which was installed by the portshaker version.

FreeBSD ports you maintain which are out of date

2013-02-28 Thread portscout
Dear port maintainer,

The portscout new distfile checker has detected that one or more of your
ports appears to be out of date. Please take the opportunity to check
each of the ports listed below, and if possible and appropriate,
submit/commit an update. If any ports have already been updated, you can
safely ignore the entry.

You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations
below.

Full details can be found at the following URL:
http://portscout.freebsd.org/po...@freebsd.org.html

Port| Current version | New version
+-+
mail/smtp-gated | 1.4.18.8| 1.4.20.0
+-+
sysutils/pstree | 2.33| 2.35
+-+

If any of the above results are invalid, please check the following page
for details on how to improve portscout's detection and selection of
distfiles on a per-port basis:

I do not see there anything about filteriing an UTF-8 encoded file;
please point me with an example to it;

Here is what you could do to render UTF-8 text files to Postscript (for
printing it with the normal lpr(1) / lpd(8) chain:

$ CHARSET=utf-8; export CHARSET

$ PPD=any-ppd-file.ppd; export PPD
$ texttops 1 rleigh myfile 1 "" file.utf8 > file.ps
$ /usr/bin/lpr -Pbar file.ps

'texttops' is from CUPS and ofc makes use of fonts etc. from the CUPS
distribution; but you do not have to configure anything in CUPS to make
'texttops' working;

maybe there are other such tools and fonts; Pango+Cairo for example...

Well, and which tool/filter (and fonts) to the painting of UTF-8 files
to Postscript exactly?
