Hello all.

However I am not able to get it working.

Everything seems to work, i can browse the share, i can write to
the share and i can delete files from the share. But as soon as I
want to read from the share windows explorer hangs. wbinfo -u
works, id user works. I have rebuild samba41, i installed a new
FreeBSD 10 machine and installed samba41, I also tried the package
of samba but the issue remains. Also i tried to trim down the
smb4.conf file.

The error i get is this (translated from dutch)
There is a problem accessing the file I:\data\filetocopy

Could someone point me in the right direction, i have no idea how
to overcome this.
If i revert back to 3.6.xx all is fine.

Can't tell you much, but that 'fake_sendfile' looks weird, we do have
real one. Can you send be the config.log file?

Regards,
Timur.

Hello Timur, thank you for taking some time for this.
Your comment make me try to set use sendfile = no in
/usr/local/etc/smb4.conf
After a /usr/local/etc/rc.d/samba_server restart all is fine, I actually
can read from the share. which is quite nice after not being able to do
so for the last two weeks. :D

So the culprit is allmost certain in the sendfile part of samba41.

Thanks again, if i need to do something please let me know.

regards
Johan

FreeBSD ports you maintain which are out of date

2014-03-27 Thread portscout
Dear port maintainer,

The portscout new distfile checker has detected that one or more of your
ports appears to be out of date. Please take the opportunity to check
each of the ports listed below, and if possible and appropriate,
submit/commit an update. If any ports have already been updated, you can
safely ignore the entry.

You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations
below.

Full details can be found at the following URL:

Thank you, Anton.

I'm now enlightened.

I guess my main request for a port is the ability to watch Netflix.  Yes, I
know Silverlight is dead, however, this hasn't stopped Netflix from it's
continued use.  :-)

I didn't know how to request a port that plays Netflix video. ;-)

Thank you, again,

Yup! It’s Clang v3.4. I’ve done a local dirty fix of ‘CFLAGS+=-Wno-error’ in
the Port Makefile. I suspect it will need rather more than this to cover all
the CLANG and GCC versions that are around.

IMHO it is fairly ridiculous the port is compiled with -Werror. If we
were gdb developers, I could understand, but for contributed software it
does not make much sense. Maybe the maintainer can apply the following
patch, which I have literally had for years in my ports tree now.

agreed. FWIW, I applied a very similar patch to devel/gdb66 on 18 Nov
2013 because it was broken on head too. All gdb ports should disable
this absurd build default.

Correct, but I did not cover that scenario as he did not initially
indicate he was setting WITH_OPENSSL_PORT in his make.conf :-)

Now that this is clear we should be able to get this resolved.

I hate to nag about this, but can we get this fixed sometime soon? In
the three weeks since Mark's email, osa updated the port to 1.4.7, but
didn't bother fixing this issue. What happened to this being a
