I've encountered the issue in
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=238773

What is the correct way for a port to run a script at the end of the build
so that a combined lib would be generated?  Or is there an example port
that is good to base off?

IMO the port options for different bit depths should be removed and it
should only build and install the multi-depth capable.
