Portsbase and maildir

2021-04-07 Thread Jim Trigg
I am going to submit that PORTSBASE should be something other than
/usr/local/. My current preference (though not solid) is /ports/. I
would like to reclaim /usr/local for true local (site-based, not
distribution-based) things. (Example: local [site-based] scripts in
/usr/local/s?bin/.)

On a related note, I would like to see maildirmake separated out as a
port of its own on which ports supporting Maildir depend. That way we
avoid clunkiness like "/usr/local/bin/maildrop-maildirmake". (The first
point most recently evidenced itself as "where do I put a symbolic link
to maildrop-maildirmake called maildirmake?".)

Thanks,
Jim Trigg

The EXPIRATION_DATE of databases/couchdb2 and
databases/p5-AnyEvent-CouchDB are 2021-06-23, but couchdb2 got removed
earlier. The fastest way should be unremoving couchdb2, or, might be
better to check if p5-AnyEvent-CouchDB can use couchdb3.

BTW, databases/couchdb3 also has an expiration date of 2021-06-23.

So what you happen to do is manually unmount each ZFS dataset.
That does not mean the ZFS datasets are gone or wont be mounted on the next
(re)boot.
As long as the datasets exist and canmount=on, it will get mounted every time.

The easiest fix is to delete the zfs datasets that poudriere created.
You can find the correct dataset with
# zfs list

 And then most probably
# zfs destroy -r zroot/poudriere

Begone, accursed poudriere partitions!

2021-04-07 Thread George Mitchell

On one occasion, probably a couple of years ago, I tried poudriere out.
I decided it was too heavy for my use case and uninstalled it. Ever
since, though, every time my build machine reboots, *something*
recreates a whole poudriere tree on my ZFS file system, with a total of
ten mountpoints littering my daily report (though apparently only 139K
of actual data). Then I have to repeat a ritual of "chflags -R noschg",
"rm -r", "zfs umount $x" for each of the mount points.

How do I stop them from coming back from the dead?-- George

Help with changing gitlab based download urls in ports

2021-04-07 Thread Matthias Fechner

Dear all,

gitlab seems to have deactivated a path FreeBSD is currently using to
download packages hosted on gitlab.com.

This also causes gitlab-ce to be not fetchable anymore.
I already created a review to fix this here (sry, it also includes an
upgrade of gitlab-ce, but without the upgrade, it would not be possible
to testbuild this modification):

https://reviews.freebsd.org/D29628

But I need some help.

If I do not define a new WRKSRC in the port itself, it does not compile.
It seems that somewhere I forgot to modify the WRKSRC.

I do not know the bsd.*.mk files to fully understand the problem.

Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks!

Gruß
Matthias

New 2021Q2 branch

2021-04-07 Thread Rene Ladan
Hi,

The 2021Q2 branch has been created. It means that the next update on the
quarterly packages will be on the 2021Q2 branch.

A lot of things happened in the last three months:
- pkg 1.16.3
- New USES: kodi mpi
- New keywords: exec postexec postunexec preexec preunexec touch unexec
- New default version: IMAGEMAGICK=7
- Removed default version: JULIA
- Default version of GCC and LLVM changed for PowerPC
- Firefox 87.0
- Firefox-esr 78.9.0
- Chromium 89.0.4389.114
- Ruby 2.6.7 and 2.7.3

This is the first quarterly branch that is natively created using Git.

Next quarterly package builds will start on Thursday 1:00 AM and
should be available on your closest mirrors few days later.

For those stat nerds out there, here's what happened during the last 3 months
on head:
Number of commits: 9481
Number of committers: 168
Most active committers:

Poudriere doesn't support gitup (so far?)

Your options are to use methods git or null, see poudriere-ports(8). To
use gitup with poudriere, configure your ports with method null and edit
gitup.conf to have `target_directory` point to your ports tree used by
poudriere, then you can update it with `gitup ports`.

I had a portsnap ports tree 'default' in poudriere and did this to
switch to git:

  poudriere ports -d -p default
  poudriere ports -c -U https://git.freebsd.org/ports.git -m git -B main

Updating poudriere to use gitup

2021-04-07 Thread Carmel
With the change in the FreeBSD ports system, I have started to use
"gitup". I have this working fine. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out
how to get poudriere, version 3.3.99.20210303_1 to use 'gitup' too. It
insists on using 'portsnap'. This is on a FreeBSD 11.4-p9 system.

Is there a 'How-to" posted on how to convert poudriere to use 'gitup' or
even "git" if necessary?

Thanks!
