Disk is cheap. Adding -W makes things go faster. When it comes to
GNOME, most people appreciate any speed improvements they can get.

IMHO, It is bad idea to suggest to use -W unconditionally for all users.

I have checked in editors/xemacs and it has:

.if !defined(WITHOUT_X11) && ${HAVE_GNOME:Mgnomehier}!=""
USE_GNOME+= gnomehier
PLIST_SUB+= DESKTOP=""
.else
PLIST_SUB+= DESKTOP="@comment "
.endif

post-install::
[...]
.if !defined(WITHOUT_X11) && ${HAVE_GNOME:Mgnomehier}!=""
${INSTALL_DATA} ${WRKDIR}/xemacs.desktop \
${LOCALBASE}/share/applications
.endif

That gnomehier check isn't right. It should be remove as that
share/applications isn't only for GNOME, which it's for near all WM
(freedesktop.org). It's in main mtree too.

-^^

I am sleepy head. It's not in main mtree.

Anyway, as for the error of post-install. I think it needs to change
from 'post-install::' to 'post-install:' unless it actually needs the
'::'?

Cheers,
Mezz
