The whole concept of LATEST_LINK is gone now. The mass email was triggered because of a forgotten monitoring script that was confused by every port returning the same, empty, value for LATEST_LINK. Every port maintainer would have received a similar email, which served no purpose whatsoever (other than to reveal a number of maintainer e-mail accounts that didn't work any more) and which everyone should simply ignore. I got an email with this subject but I’m not sure what to do about it. The port on the list which I maintain (deskutils/autocutsel) doesn’t use LATEST_LINK or munge PKGNAME at all, and I don’t see any collisions in e.g. INDEX-10. I tried the recipes at https://wiki.freebsd.org/ports/PkgNameCollisions but they didn’t produce any output, and my awk-foo isn’t nearly good enough to debug. I’m all for cleaning up the ports tree, but need a little more direction if my ports aren’t up to par. Dear port maintainers, The following list includes ports maintained by you that have duplicate LATEST_LINK values. They should either be modified to use a unique LATEST_LINK or suppressed using NO_LATEST_LINK, to avoid overwriting each other in the packages/Latest directory. If your ports conflict with ports maintained by another person, please coordinate your efforts with them.
