The patch is quite simple, so yes.

I tried compiling the 9.4.3-P3 on a 7.0 box and it does compile but  
will not

run.


I assume you mean the port? What do you mean by it won't run? How are  
you starting it?

Yes, the fix do work for 7.0.

However, it would be good to upgrade to a supported release according to
your maintenance plan, when possible.  You can use freebsd-update to do
the upgrade.
