Actually, Amavis and Maia-Mailguard two separate things. Maiad isn't
amavisd. It is simply an alternative to amavisd to be used with mail
servers. The mailgraph.pl script shouldn't need to be changed.

What do you mean by wrote over your database? Did it write over this
entry in the database, or your entire database?

Make reinstall forces a package to re-register, by doing the following:
${MAKE} -DFORCE_PKG_REGISTER install
