Supporting evidence: there are references to DESTDIR in that
object in the local copy on my -CURRENT box.

Thanks for the tip there kris. When I initially tried this I got:
mount_nullfs /usr/ports /usr/local/jails/jail1
mount_nullfs: Operation not supported by device

Since info on nullfs seems to very scarce I thought I'd mention
here that to use nullfs it requires the kernel module compiled
and loaded which fixes the above.

I suppose this version of the Handbook has not yet found its way into 6-STABLE, 
because my local copy only mentions PREFIX in this chapter.
