I have pidgin installed on two 8.0 systems:

2) FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE #0: Mon May 17 00:51:56 EDT 2010 - pidgin-2.7.0_1
Both the package and the build of pidgin-2.7.0_1 appear to install
without any images. A diff of the package list show about 59 png files
are not installed for 2.7. Copying the missing files to their
appropriate places (in 2.6) did nothing so I assume the links are built in.
I have a minimal installation of kde 3.5.10 staring with kdebase and
then installing only what I needed/wanted. I wonder if a dependency not
in the pidigin make file could be my problem?
Seconded, latest pidgin compiled from ports doesn't seem to install
various icon files. Symptom for me is visible in KDE 4.4.3 with the
Pidgin system tray icon being shown as a red cross i.e. required icon
file is missing and KDE is replacing it with a placeholder.
Cheers,
