question reguarding Evolution...
Im running 4.10 right now and even since 4.9 and lower i have had this problem. Im running 1.4.6 right now... the latest as of last night form ports. (9/29/2004) Basicly what is happening is it downloads 1 email every 2 minutes and 10 seconds, just an FYI im running 3Mbit cable and if i download email from the same server same account on any other computer its at most 2 seconds or so per email. I have tryed rebuilding it a few times, and playing around with differnt ports and such. Another problem im having is every once in a while i will be downloading emails and it will come to an email and just stop. It will not delete the ones it downloaded off the server and it will not download any more. It just halts and stops downloading then retrys in 30 minutes (what its set too) and repeats that over and over. It stores the emails that it downloaded so i generally come home or wake up to 200-300 of the same emails waiting around in their respective places. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix these problems? Its pretty common for the second one to happen, and it runs very very slow. Some computer specs are tho: AMD k6-2 400 with 386MB of ram running xorg (latest and greatest) and fluxbox (ditto) Nothing terribly special in the background, its mainly just a NAT server but does nothing else with its proccessor time. For some reason it runs really slow in X, still have not figured out why but thats for another email. Hello again everyone, i messed up with pkgdb ....
Howdy all who read this, i messed up. A the last few times i was doing portupgrade's i did pkgdb -F first .. But a lot of the packages that ran by it i did not pay attition close enough to the version numbers behind it, and well i hit auto on all of them one day for several xfree packages. My problem is that i run xorg .. Just today i noticed it when i hit auto again and i noticed it was imake 4.4 or whatever version is out and then did portupgrade -aRr and it told me imake 4.4 is blocked because it is apart of Xfree86 packages. So how do i change all those packages back to xorg's and how do i find out which ones need it? Thank you, Jordan. ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
Xfree86 to xorg
whats the best way to change from xfree86 to x.org? Just go in to x11-servers and uninstall one and install the other? ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
OK i feel stupid about this noob question but....
I dont know whats wrong with me but for some reason i cant add users to my system. I go through the whole bit of adduser -s but it asks "user names must match reguilar expressions [regext] " ... I dont even remember that happening when i use to add users or i might just be going insane, anyways i put in regext or the username or something but when i finaly get through the other 4 questions on there and get to acually try to add the user it says it must follow the expression ... I decided to beat my head agenst my desk to see if i could knock something lose, anyone wanna help with this? i have added users before ( back when i first got everything installed about 2 years ago) and have not really needed to since, but now im trying again.. ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

Slow loading websites
I am running FireFox right now, but this happens a lot with other browsers as well. Just basics about my system, im running a AMD k6-2 400 386mb ram and an 32meg ati video card (dont remember the exact product right now) When i go to a website, say Slashdot or freshmeat, or any where that involves ads on the page some where, about 99% of the time it can take upwards of 2-3 minutes to load the entire page. Every time it halts on waiting on some address relating to an ad some where on the net, if i jump over to my fiance's P2 400 running windows and go to the page it loads the page long before mine finishs. If i hit reload on it a few duzzon times it will generally bring up the proper page and i can go about my business. I guess my main question is, anyone ever seen this, if so ever get it fixed? How did you fix it and is there anything i should look into other than buying a faster machine. ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
