dump through ssh problem
Hey there, Here's a command that I use dump -0aunL -f - / | gzip -2 | ssh -p 182 m...@192.168.0.1 "dd of=/home/matt/usb_hdd/mail.err.lv/dump.root.l0.gz" problem is, when ssh asks for password, it is fed a piped output from previous commands, not allowing me to enter a password for connection. What am I doing wrong? :) Cheers, Matt ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-questions-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"

Upgrade base openssh
Hi, Is there a way to just upgrade base openssh without breaking a lot of things? I have an old 5.4 stable box, and I would like to get openssh up to date, since it is running sshd service, and it is not possible to allow it only from defined ips. Or I just have to eat it and upgrade the whole system? :) Cheers, Matiss ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
Drive Geometry fail
Hey all, Installing FreeBSD 7.0 on Intel Server Board S3200, WD HDDs 750 GB, it gives me this "A geometry of yadayadayada is incorrect, using a more likely geometry" error. Of course, in the past I usually just pressed ok and all installations were fine. Till today. It gets to install and then starts to complain that it doesn't have any inodes free. Now, my bios on this motherboard doesn't give out what IT thinks the geometry is, so I'm hosed there. Basically I have no idea how to get FreeBSD moving on that box. Any advice? :) Matiss ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

Is there such environment variable, which changes window title for putty? I mean, MC is able to change it to working dir I think.. How do I change that title to let's say server name for my shell? Re: ImageMagick problem
Thanks! I guess I should just wait then, and compile from ports for now. Thanks :) Quoting Lowell Gilbert : The current state of the port: http://portsmon.freebsd.org/portoverview.py?category=graphics&portname=ImageMagick Links: -- [1] mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
RE: ImageMagick problem
So sorry, didn't noticed I don't have a subject in original mail. Hey all Hope this is more or less right place to ask. What I noticed on my FreeBSD 6.2 installation, that pkg_add -r ImageMagick results in a file not found error. DTG864# pkg_add -r ImageMagick Error: FTP Unable to get ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-6-stable/Latest/ImageMagick.tbz: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access) same with pkg_add -r ImageMagick-nox11. and sure enough, indeed there is no ImageMagick.tbz on freebsd ftp server for freebsd version 6. Browsed the net, but couldn't find any info on this. Of course I could compile from ports, but that takes too much time. So, any ideas, why there is no ImageMagick.tbz, and what shall one do? :) Matiss ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
