Just yesterday, I installed FreeBSD 5.3-REL on the laptop of my colleague. He owns a HP Pavillion DV1000 series. It worked out of the box. Though, we needed to apply a small patch to the i8xx driver, to enable 1280x768 resolution in X. /mich ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

It is most likely the cause of wrong permissions. You can try to take a look in your ~/.mozilla/firefox/ directory. The file that holds that sort of information is calledd userpref.js Alternatively you can simply delete ~/.mozilla/firefox directory, and Firefox will create a fresh profile upon restart. Comm port woes
I have a box running 4.8-REL, its primary function is to provide serial access to cisco routers and switches (for testing purposes). Since last week no data is coming through, when connected to a device with minicom or tip(1) - all settings have been verified and double checked. It is working fine when connected to my FreeBSD laptop. Is the port physically b0rken, or is it possible to somehow clear the line ? Installing 5.1 on a Proliant 3000
Hola, I am trying to install 5.1-RELEASE on an old Compaq Proliant 3000. When I boot on the cd, and choose 'default' in the bootloader - I get the following error message - followed by a panic: acpi: bad RSDP checksum (182) NMI ISA D0, EISA ff RAM parity error, likely hardware failure. and the panic. The server has been running fine for a long time with linux. I have tried re-seating the RAM blocks - and I have also succeeded in starting a linux installation. Any ideas ?
