Alert! Broken Link on blazej.org

2013-08-06 Thread Nicole Stoff

Hello,

My name is Nicole and I'm in the middle of a project to construct a
medium-high investment portfolio. My research has taken me to a number
of different sites, yours being one of them. I know that a lot of work
goes into maintaining a website, so I want you to know that I appreciate
all your time and effort!

I also wanted to let you know that while I was on your site (more
specifically, on this page: (www.blazej.org/news/1999/press.html), I
found a broken resource link. When I tried to access the
http://cbs.marketwatch.com resource, I was taken to a page that couldn't
be found. I thought you might want to update since MarketWatch is such
an influential investing tool. So, I did a quick search and discovered
that the page is now located here: http://www.marketwatch.com

I also have a resource of my own to share for your website.
Investing.Answers.com is an informative,
comprehensive guide containing articles on a variety of investment
related topics that I think your visitors will find useful. Check it out
and let me know what you think! Investing.Answers.com
is yours to add if you agree that it's a
good addition!

Thanks again for providing great resources!

Best,
Nicole

Broken link on your page

Hi,

I came across your website and wanted to notify you about a broken link on your

One problem with this is that spammers typically use phony email addresses:
either somebody else's or a nonexistent email address.

People looked. A *permanent* decisionwas made _NOT_ to use anything from
your phoney diploma-mill website.

> Please let me know what you think!

We think you are an imbecilic spammer who couldn't catch a clue even
if you doused yourself in clue musk, and did the clue-mating dance
in the middle of a field full of randy clues, at the height of the
clue-rutting season.

How could _anyone_ possibly come to that conclusion, you ask?

Hint #1: *NOBODY* at the address you have repeatedly spammed has anything
to do with the site you found.

Hint #2: What you found was a _copy_ -- a sadly out-of-date (four years
or so) one -- of the official website.

Hint #3: The _official_ website removed that broken link *YEARS* ago.

Hint #4: Under no circumstances would the official site consider using
anything fom someone who is incapable of figuring out the
_correct_ contact address for the webmaster, and bombards a
 user-support mailing-list instead.

Hint #5: There is no way that the *unmaintained* 'copy' site would ever
use your 'resource'. If they were ever to update things, they
would simply pull a newer copy of the official website. Which
 eliminates the out-of-date link.

Now, *PLEASE* stop bombarding the innocent users of the support mailing-list
with your ignorant, ill-informed, impossible-of-fullfilment nonsense.

Continued spamming off the mailing-list might well result in numerous people
deciding to forward all their junk email to you, as 'thanks' for wasting their
time.

Thanks for the pointer. (Actually it is .../dnews_0308.pdf
that contains the particular article mentioned in libgeom(3);
dnews_0305.pdf contains an earlier article, also by phk@, in
the same series, and there was a third in .../dnews_0406.)

One _hopes_ that publicly-accessible archives like that have been
vetted for copyright concerns.

Which, unfortunately, seems to have removed the link rather than
updating it.

Cc'ing the article's author, in case he knows a current location
that could be used. (It may not be advisable to link to the daemon
news archive on gwdu111.gwdg.de, since its copyright status is not
entirely clear* and it provides whole issues rather than individual
articles.)

* at least, not entirely clear to me, the site being mostly in
German. Someone who can read German might find something about
the copyright status of the daemon news archive elsewhere on
  the site.

The FreeBSD Diary site is not directly affiliated with the FreeBSD.org

programming class I'm taking when I came across your
page:http://www.freebsddiary.org/newbies.php .
I noticed you link to: http://www-wks.acs.ohio-state.edu/unix_course/unix.html

It seems to be broken. :(

During my search I came across this informative page on Unix with common
commands:
http://www.sharefile.com/content/common-unix-commands.aspx

I found it very helpful and I think it would make a sufficient replacement for
your broken link.

Have a nice day,
