I don't think the freebsd team is meaning to pimp out bad urls to a domain company. I tried some others like 'pootie.freebsd.org', 'us.freebsd.org', etc. None of these pushed me to the domain register, they just failed. ca.freebsd.org is the responsibility of whoever runs the ca.freebsd.org machine, it's not maintained by the freebsd team.
