Re: corrupt disklabel, how to restore?
Ok, thanks I managed to rescue my disk from /usr/sbin/sysinstall Freebsd Disklabel Editor in combination with fdisk. It automatically fsck'd my filesystem in write of disklabel... Thanks :) -d Subhro wrote: Y means a new file system would be created Regards S. I really need a way to restore the disklabel. I have tried scan_ffs with no result is there any other way, The disk was mounted as ad1s1d one large slice. It's partitioned and mounted from sysinstall in 5.2.1 And the machine rins 5.2.1 again :( So, I guess I could: use fdisk and/or disklabel from within sysinstall again. If you have partitioned your disk as UFS2, then there is no way in which you can access them running 4.10.
