So it isn't really a question of diablo versus regular port, you're trying to choose between java 1.5 and 1.6. For maximum portability, I would recommend installing both, and making sure your code runs on both. > On 02/04/2008, Lowell Gilbert <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> "Kemian Dang" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: >> >> > I am not sure which version of jdk should I use, do they have the same >> > functionality? >> > >> > I know jdk-1.6 is compiled by diablo-jdk and has no run dependency on >> > diablo, but if diablo is the same as the original sun jdk, why should >> > there be another one, or to say, why I need to install another one? >> > >> > So, any suggestions? >> >> >> If you're not writing java code yourself, the differences will >> probably be quite small. >> > ___ > freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" > -- Lowell Gilbert, embedded/networking software engineer, Boston area http://be-well.ilk.org/~lowell/ ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
Re: Which one should I use diablo-jdk1.5.0 or jdk-1.6
I want to write Java program, so I want to find which one should I use, to avoid situation that my code can not be compiled and run on another machine. Which one should I use diablo-jdk1.5.0 or jdk-1.6
Dear all, I am not sure which version of jdk should I use, do they have the same functionality? I know jdk-1.6 is compiled by diablo-jdk and has no run dependency on diablo, but if diablo is the same as the original sun jdk, why should there be another one, or to say, why I need to install another one? So, any suggestions? Best wishes, Kemian ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
