Anyone know how to use the PS2 port as a simple serial port? I never

You can't do it. But you may consider purchasing a USB to serial
port(s) converter based on PL2303 (Prolific Technologies) chip. Those
converters work great with FreeBSD.

The PS/2 port is not a RS232 serial port.

It is a serial port, but it is specifically designed for a PS/2 mouse
serial protocol, that has nothing to do with RS232.

Your going to have to do what the rest of us do and use a
USB to serial port adapter.
