Thank you very much for your reply, and my apologies for the delayed
response here. I was out of town for several days.
If packages are available for 8.1, I may just have to get around to
doing the 7.3 to 8.1 upgrade a bit sooner than I had intended.

Following the links of the porting.openoffice.org/freebsd/ page will
get you here:
ftp://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/FreeBSD/

Look in the packages-8-amd64 or -i386 folders for packages for pretty much
any versions. I've been running the weeky builds of 3.3 without
issue.

I "think" the versions in the 3.2.1 folders are for 7.X, but I'm not
100% certain. Personally, for a desktop system I see no reason to
still be running 7.X, but that's just me :)

We don't have a recent openoffice build for 7.3-RELEASE, but could
probably run a build after testing the 32bit version of the custom DVD.
Do you need 32 or 64bit?

Did you try an OpenOffice.org binary for 7.0 or 7.1?

pkg_add will probably throw some warnings, but generally things should

As I noted previously, there do not appear to be any packages available
for 7.3, or at least portmaster doesn't find any.

That is the site that appears in the Makefiles, but again, portmaster
with -P or -PP fails to find any packages for these ports for 7.3. If you
know of some other site that does have OpenOffice.org packages available,
that would be wonderful. I seem to recall dimly some discussion on FreeBSD
lists around the time of 7.3-RELEASE to the effect that there were no OOo
packages for that release, though I don't remember the reason(s) why no
packages had been produced.
