How did you install gcc 3? Kris I downloaded the tar file from the gcc web site and compiled and installed it that way. OK, it sounds like you overwrote the FreeBSD system compiler. You need to reinstall it somehow. Something like: cd /usr/src/gnu/usr.bin/cc make depend make all make install might fix your system enough to complete a 'make world'. Otherwise (or if you're not comfortable doing this) you could reinstall FreeBSD.
