Systrace port status?
Hello, Does anyone know the status of the port of systrace to FreeBSD? The project page does not appear to be updated and the author has not replied to my e-mail. Thanks, Michael. ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to
port status
Hello Im wondering if there is a status page that show work on ports/pkg's? Much like freshports, but for instance if I wanted to see the current work on kde 3.4.3 for example - would there be a place where I could get such info? The ports system is really great too! Thanks Eoghan ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to

Big ports like KDE have pages accessible via google (freebsd portname). http://pointyhat.freebsd.org/ can also be of interest. ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to

EISA I/O port status error.panic: NMI indicates hardware failure
Hi, one of my maschines shows a interesting problem. [/var/log/messages] Dec 19 03:34:35 farad /kernel: NMI ISA 2d, EISA 3f Dec 19 03:34:35 farad /kernel: EISA I/O port status error.panic: NMI indicates hardware failure Dec 19 03:34:35 farad /kernel: Dec 19 03:34:35 farad /kernel: syncing disks... 69 2 Dec 19 03:34:35 farad /kernel: done Dec 19 03:34:35 farad /kernel: Uptime: 1d11h12m8s Dec 19 03:34:35 farad /kernel: Automatic reboot in 15 seconds - press a key on the console to abort Dec 19 03:34:35 farad /kernel: Rebooting... The box was running for over a year with no problems, started with 4.6 and from time to time got upgraded. Currently running FreeBSD farad 4.9-STABLE FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE #7: Fri Oct 31 09:39:10 CET 2003 :/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/FARAD i386 and with this kernel running over a month without any problems. A few days ago I had running some cpu intensive stuff, so the system got hot and after 30h or so the box died. After powering and cooling down the system it was alive again. Now it shows this problem. Any guesses where the hardware problem is? thx, \Thomas\bye -- Wer sich zuviel mit kleinen Dingen abgibt, wird gewoehnlich unfaehig zu grossen. Seems pretty clear that some vital component has died of heat stress. Chances are it's either the CPU or one of the north, south bridges on the motherboard. Either way, it's time to rip the guts out of that box and replace the important bits. Or buy a whole new machine, if you're not interested in getting the screwdrivers out. If you do replace the CPU/Mobo make sure to replace the CPU heatsink and any fans -- you should monitor fan speeds and CPU temperature: a combination of the net/mrtg and sysutils/xmbmon ports does it for me.
