It is probably installed in your machine (most ports depend on it) but something may have gone wrong during a portupgrade. /usr/ports/UPDATING states the following for gettext upgrades: As a result of the upgrade to gettext-0.17, the shared library version of libintl has changed, so you will need to rebuild all ports that depend on gettext: # portupgrade -rf gettext # portmaster -r gettext I suggest you try one of these commands.
