RE: 3.2 -> 3.3-stable
Which reminds me. Now that -RC is coming. I remember someone was trying to co-ordinate some beta testing. Alas, I forgot who that was an if he (or she) was still co-ordinating it? If so, I wonder if there is anything I could do, other than "make world" that would be of use? -Chris > -Original Message- > From: Kris Kennaway [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, December 08, 1999 8:51 PM > To: Sameer R. RE: Stability problems in 3.3-R?
Well, I had 3.3-RC on my box and now I have 3.3-RELEASE. I had no problems at all except for one and that I tracked down to what I'll call user error. I also have similar hardware as you do. k6/2-300, 64mb ram, fic 503+ w/ VIA MVP4 chipset. It may help to get a panic and possibly a crash dump to the list to get someone's opinion on the errors your getting. But to answer your original question, I don't believe there are issues specific to 3.3-RC (or release) with your hardware that would cause frequent (if any) panics. -Chris > -Original Message- > From: Donald Burr [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Friday, September 24, 1999 7:06 AM > To: FreeBSD Questions > Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Stability problems in 3.3-R? > > I just installed FreeBSD 3.3 on my machine (AMD K6-2/350, EPoX > EP-MVP4A motherboard [VIA MVP4 chipset], 128 MB RAM). RE: make release grabbing all ports?
Well, I wouldn't call it comprehensive but there is something in the FAQ about it. http://www.freebsd.org/FAQ/hackers.html#CUSTREL -Chris > -Original Message- > From: Jordan K. RE: Quotas.
I suppose anything is possible. I don't think it's likely. I have quota running on a 21GB /usr partition w/o any trouble what so ever. It might help if you sent the actual problem you are having back to the mailing list. -Chris > -Original Message- > From: matt [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Tuesday, August 17, 1999 3:24 AM > To: FreeBSD-STABLE > Subject: Quotas. > > > Greetings, > > I have two questions now, testing some theories with an odd problem of > mine; A) Is it possible that quota would mishandle a 9.3 GB partition? > B) Is it possible that a minor/major problem with a hard drive would cause > quota but nothing else to 'freak out'?
