Consider doing so :) Have you made sure that the power supply isn't sagging under load and that the CPU(s) are not overheating? Checked all the fans? Those are two causes of spontaneous reboots that most people don't think to check. Kris, Baldur, and I, of course, check all this, having brought paranoia up from a mere art form to a true science. ;=) -- Mike Andrews [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tired old sysadmin since 1964 To Unsubscribe: send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message

Spontanious reboots
This box has been spontaniously rebooting for a while, we've replaced most of the hardware and upgraded the system to 4.5-STABLE with no luck. Machine's role is firewall/transparent proxy Here's an examination of a panic it generated: Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0x3ab5ddc0fault virtual address = 0x3ab5ddc0 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc024ff18 stack pointer = 0x10:0xc02ff524 frame pointer = 0x10:0xc02ff530 code segment= base 0x0, limit 0xf, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags= interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = Idle interrupt mask = net tty trap number = 12 panic: page fault syncing disks... done Uptime: 6d16h39m16s Automatic reboot in 15 seconds - press a key on the console to abort Rebooting...
