RE: does cvsup replace/pull all files every time?

2001-02-04 Thread Robert

Thanks for all the help folks. Really apppreciate it.

As it turned out - the makeworld took 5.5 hours.

everythign went fine, except right at the end - MAKEDEV all has either not
built a suitable keyboard driver, or mergemaster was not done properly. Now
I have no keyboard, but do have a mouse pointer of sorts. Pressing keys
interfers with the mouse activity - but can't type so can't access the
system.

So might start from scratch now I know what happens

I know about the date/time thing. y2k in the ELM I'm using on the original
server.

cheers
Robert

NO, just the CHANGES to the files, and any new ones, and deletes
obsolete stuff.

I believe that is true.

See the cvsup FAQ on www.polstra.com, but basically it only sends the
bits which have changed, unless that would mean more traffic than just
sending the entire file.

It's quite possible, but again see the FAQ.

does cvsup replace/pull all files every time?

2001-02-03 Thread Robert Chalmers

I'm just wondering, being a first time user of cvsup, if every time it's run
it replaces or updates all the files, and downloads all the files every time?

also, I suppose it's impossible to cvsup to upgrade a 2.2-snap to 4.2 stable?
