Sorry, why when FreeBSD lack support of some hardware, it inevitably marks
as "MS only"? USB is our future. It will be, independent of our wishes. I
hacd have seen already motherboard WITHOUT ANY ports, except USB - USB mouse,
USB keyboard, USB printer, etc.

I'd like to use FreeBSD to day-by-day work. But why I must use uncomfortable
corded mouse or buy one additional USB mouse simply because proud FreeBSD
developers cannot support combined USB receivers?

USB support in FreeBSD works terrible - I fear to insert any flash drive in my
workbox, because these drives can very simply to hangup, deadlock or reboot
it - simply insertion of flashdrive can reboot system, which approved itself
as hardrock stable!

I do not sharp attention on this thinhg, as when I need to re-plug each time
USB keyboard to detect it at boot process. It is very similar to stupid
comedy - to detect keyboard I must re-plug it. ROFL.

I can only repeat one sentence, which I said sometime - "Snobbing and
contempting of users' requests can destroy any succesful project". That was
done with OS/2, i.e.

Updated patch, against HEAD. Since the PR was submitted, the vendor ID
has already been assigned the name QUALCOMMINC, so reflect that change in
 the patch also.

The bit I'm not sure about is the mention of using it as a
printer at the same time, can you confirm if this is all
committed and the PR can be closed?

Paritially similar to PR's 90162, 96120, 97286, 103578 :-D This is
ethereal FreeBSD's problem - I have wireless twinbox (Genius Optical
Value+) since 2006, and it does not work exactly - ukbd detects
excellent, mouse detects as uhid and does not work at all, or detects
but does not work at all.

WHY FREEBSD STILL HAS NOT SUPPROT OF USB TWINS (KBD AND MOUSE AT ONE USB
RECEIVER)???

Well, you're a step ahead of me. My Adesso keyboard/touchpad combo
doesn't detect the touchpad at all. On the other hand, thanks to a patch
from Gavin, my keyboard's working perfectly these days. :)

Please remember that there is crappy USB equipment out there that has been and

FreeBSD 7.0 USB mass storage problems (OHCI)

2008-06-22 Thread Todorov

Hi all,

I have a problem (most probably after the migration from 6.3 to 7.0).
Attached is my dmesg output. The problem is as follows:
1. I have permanently attached USB mouse and KBD which are working
perfectly.
2. When I attach UMASS device on one of the ports sometimes it shows me
the listing of the file system directories. On some devices it shows me
partial list. I was trying with FAT & FAT32 FS formated devices but the
behaviour is very strange.

I've tried w/o ACPI enabled, tried w/ my sound card out of the machine
(because of shared irq w/ the USB adapter) but thing are the same. Tried
to fsck and fix the file system just in case. Also the same devices work
on my ThinkPad laptop like charm.

If I copy pictures some of them are ok, some messed with other pictures.
Devices are 1GB FAT Olympus photo camera and 8GB FAT32 Kingston USB flash.

Sometimes I get g_vfs_done[READ..sector..size] error=5

Any advice - what can I check, do?

Thanks!
