Follow-up Comment #2:

Need more work. If this is only used at server side, removing it from trunk/
in the packet_city_info is a good idea. However, it is forbidden to change
the packet definition of a stable branch (so, it cannot be applied to S2_2).

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #15104] S2_2: gui-xaw never shows connection dialog

2010-02-13 Thread Jacob Nevins

Follow-up Comment #7, bug #15104 (project freeciv):

Ah, if I apply the other patch (file #7658: s2_2-xaw-pages.diff) then it
works -- SVN revision 16817 only covers one of the patches.

I haven't worked out why the patch works or anything. I'll probably commit it
tonight anyway for the sake of getting it into 2.2.0-RC1.

The Xaw client isn't in a great state after that point, but it's not
_completely_ broken.

[Freeciv-Dev] What's left to do before 2.2.0-RC1

2010-02-13 Thread Daniel Markstedt
I'll be tagging the 2.2.0 Release Candidate tomorrow afternoon CET.
There are a few bugs targeted for 2.2.0 that are still open.

This one has a 'ripe' patch, please commit soon:

bug #15332: missing initialization in send_city_info_at_tile() (found
by valgrind)

These have patches written today. Getting them into 2.2.0 would mean
bending our 36h policy a bit. Can we re-target them to 2.2.1?

Follow-up Comment #15, bug #15258 (project freeciv):

Then it should be considered 2 different terrain cases: the terrain where we
cannot *build* a city, the terrain there cannot *be* a city... (e.g. a city
could hold on ice, but not on ocean).

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #15357] Help for terrain doesn't describe effect of specials (Win32, Xaw)

2010-02-13 Thread Jacob Nevins

URL:

Summary: Help for terrain doesn't describe effect of
specials (Win32, Xaw)
 Project: Freeciv
Submitted by: jtn
Submitted on: Saturday 13/02/10 at 17:22
Category: docs
Severity: 2 - Minor
Priority: 1 - Later
  Status: None
 Assigned to: None
Originator Email:
 Open/Closed: Open
 Release:
 Discussion Lock: Any
Operating System: None
 Planned Release:

___

Details:

The fix in bug #15343 only fixed the Gtk client. A similar fix could be
applied to the Win32 and Xaw clients, but I can't currently build Win32 and
Xaw doesn't currently work for me.

The fix was also rather hacky as I did it in a hurry for 2.2.0; perhaps it
could be improved.

A fix for bug #15132 would likely render this moot.

[Freeciv-Dev] [bug #15356] Server crash with supplied scenarios (trunk)

Details:

Happens with tutorial scenario (before and after patching bug #15316, which
is where I found it) and also with data/scenario/earth-160x90-v2.sav. Doesn't
happen if I just start the server on its own with no "-f" argument.

This is trunk r16825. Don't see it on S2_2.

Here's what I see when running the server separately from the client (crash
also happens within client):

$ server/freeciv-server -f data/scenario/tutorial.sav

Just a general reflection: How about allowing extreme climate change to turn
city tiles into glacier or ocean again - and then destroying the city when
