URL: http://gna.org/bugs/?16880 Summary: Context menu: Take AI player fails Project: Freeciv Submitted by: handuman Submitted on: Sunday 10/17/10 at 07:58 Category: client-gtk-2.0 Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Release: 2.2.3 Discussion Lock: Any Operating System: None Planned Release: ___ Details: The _Take this player_ command in pregame player list fails when trying to /take an AI player when only AI players are being allowed to /take. To reproduce: 0 start a new game with default settings from the client 0 /set allowtake = Aa 0 activate the context menu on one of the AI players in the list 0 choose Take this player * the client first toggles the AI state and then complains that human players cannot be taken. That player remains as unassigned human player. To fix: Make the menu option first execute the /take command and if successful then toggle the AI status. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/bugs/?16880 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

Follow-up Comment #2, patch #1959 (project freeciv): Just tried this out with patch #1956. Looks good, but a couple of issues I noticed with airliftingstyle specifically: * In airliftingstyle_name, the same text Allows units to be airlifted to allied cities appears twice. I think the second should be Unlimited units from source city. * For that setting, some documentation has been lost; UNLIMITED_SRC used to say Airlifting from a city doesn't reduce the airlifted counter, but still needs at least 1 and UNLIMITED_DEST used to say Airlifting to a city doesn't reduce the airlifted counter, and doesn't need any. (Also echoed in fc_types.h.) This is important information, I think; as far as I can, it basically means that with UNLIMITED_DEST you can airlift to cities without Airports or equivalent, but even with UNLIMITED_SRC you need an Airport in the source city. ___ Reply to this item at: http://gna.org/patch/?1959 ___ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ ___ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev

The server setting _diplcost_ defines a percentage penalty for receiving technology and gold from a diplomatic treaty. I think there should be separate settings for each. If diplcost is set to 100 to make trading techs less profitable, it invalidates all gold payments. Including those that have nothing to do with technology transfers. For example, buying cities or paying for damages (these are reality in LT games). You may also want to file a bug report with Debian. It started happening when I switched to a 21.5 monitor and added an extra 3 GB of physical memory. The difficulty is knowing exactly which package it is that needs to be configured, apt/aptitude might be able to help out here. 3) Another method would be to totally log out of X and use a single user shell or console. I'm not sure how this is accomplished in Debian, but it may involve selecting an option from the grub/lilo/yaboot menu. Once there, type the following commands: cd /etc/X11/ Xorg -configure When that is finished test your settings by typing: startx *) In days of yore we might have deleted the configurations file, but i understand that changes in the way X.Org 1.4 stores settings make that less useful in many cases.
