Details:

Make it work like the Qt client's "Go to and..." menu for now. The user
selects the action before clicking on the map. No checks for action legality
are performed. This allows the player to order an action that will become
legal before the unit reaches the target tile. (Example: join the city will be
built at the target tile during next turn) 

Implementing a more beginner friendly alternative UI like the one suggested in
bug #16905 has been left for later. (String changes already in the Qt client)

I've been deterred progressing this and the many other similar tickets by not
knowing
* What are your criteria for validity?
* What test did you use to determine whether an SVG was valid?
* What procedure did you use to turn invalid SVGs into valid ones?

You may already have posted this information somewhere, but I haven't time to
go through all your tickets, wiki edits, and forum posts to try to find it. I
appreciate that you've spent a lot of time here, but there's a lot of
remaining work for us in just wrangling this pile of tickets and files into
svn.

It would also be reassuring for you to confirm whether any of your changes to
flags in svn could be complicated licensing-wise. If you can confirm that all
of these changes are mechanical transformations to the existing SVG (rather
than say replacement of flags from a new upstream source), that would save us
examining each one; if there are any troublesome ones it would be useful to
have a list.

Please create a metaticket (patch ticket) with this information. We can hang
all the individual flag tickets off that, and also any documentation and
procedure updates needed to avoid regressions in future.

Hmm... as extras can have multiple causes but each cause is counted
separately, and presumably players should be kept informed about the situation
as they see it...

Reserving one byte counters in a quite typical 2 tile game with 20 players
would take
(5 x 128 + 3) x 2 x (20 + 1) = 271MB

Max settings:
(5 x 128 + 3) x 2048000 x (160 + 1) = 213GB

Man pages contain Unix-specific information, so would not be appropriate to
distribute with Windows builds.

Real problem is that the _PATH environment variables are only documented for
Unix despite being applicable to Windows builds too. Which is going to be
annoying, because they're complicated enough that I don't really want to
maintain two copies, and that sort of doc does belong in the man page on Unix.

  1 toolsdownload.h: #define MODPACK_SUFFIX ".modpack"
  3 toolsdownload.c:   for (start_idx = strlen(URL) - strlen(MODPACK_SUFFIX);


FWIW, 1+3 occurrences in trunk will be renamed. The old name with a new value
".mdpl" could also do the trick.

I'm afraid the sound still seems to be played with S2_5 r33655.

I find it's not always audible; playing a couple of turns seems to help (maybe
gives the client/server more to think about while shutting down?)

Running with -d 4:audio.c gives


4: audio_play_music('music_start', '(null)')
4: audio_play_sound('e_game_quit', '(null)')
3: No sound file for tag e_game_quit (file (null))
3: Neither of tags e_game_quit or (null) found


I'm quitting with Ctrl+Q in this instance.

Details:


The minimap does not use the available space inside the (left) panel. There's
a rather big frame around it, 40% max is used.

See screenshot.

No matter big or small map, no matter old or new game. It still zooms. When
game is loaded, you see (sometimes) a bigger map, replaced by the smaller
one.

gui_gtk2_small_display_layout=FALSE
fullscreen_mode=TRUE

Both GTK2 and GTK3.

When hexemplio was first introduced, ampliohexbig had a lot of extra stuff
(relative to what supplied rulesets use). Hexemplio was simplified from that
(for size of installation files / download, if nothing else).
Since then ampliohexbig itself has been somewhat simplified by moving stuff to
extra tilesets, so the original argument for a tileset with a different name
is not as valid as it used to be...
