Details:

There has been numerous cases when AI moves it's troops in a battlefield
idiotically. It might be reported before, but I couldn't find bug relevant to
this case.

Screenshot attached to explain the problem. AI had phalanx on a mountain
adjacent to my city. After losing the one attacker it had there, AI abandonded
that perfect position and continued it's attack on open ground below, where
they are sitting ducks for my knight.

AI is not perfect, but that's bad enough to be considered a bug in my opinion.

Could there be an option to just hide the combat animation in bombardments?
Not seeing the damage caused by bombardments seems realistic and would be an
easy fix, I think.

Yes. If I change location and regional settings for windows to UK it works
only with en_GB etc...

Finnish works with whatever regional settings, but throws error message in
comment #13 when leaving program.

On the contrary what I said earlier, this seems to apply to release version as
well.

Actually, executing the test build (r30116) from freeciv-gtk2.exe seems to
work. It only hangs up when executed via freeciv-gtk2.cmd for different
language.

It still gave the same stderr.txt log, and following error message when
quitting the program:
"Command in address "0x7c91168b" pointed to memory in address"0x0004",
memory cannot be "read"."

This applies only to that test build, release version always hangs up.

to 'fi'?"

The opposite. Due to automatic localization, game uses finnish when run
directly. Test version seems to hang up only when run other than systems
native language (finnish in my case).

I downloaded and installed 2.5.0 again while ago and it works. 2.5.1 doesn't.

"Connect to Network Game" after a while"

Yes, it goes unresponsive forever.

From stderr.txt (attached):
"in scroll_if_necessary() [../../../../../client/gui-gtk-2.0/chatline.c::561]:
assertion 'scroll_target != ((void *)0)' failed."

Chatline goes over the bounds and/or stucks in a loop?

I was running a game straight on Freeciv-server.exe. It gave following error
log after quitting the game.

I don't know if it is anyway connected with this bug though...

Much better practice would be to use only Leader name and allow hiding of the
username in options. Changing systems username for Freeciv is inconvinient,
and using generic system username reduces the feel of the game.

Disabling the players username would also make game less predictable by
allowing playing under alias. Also, nothing prevents using your username as
leaders name as well.

This error does not occur with Freeciv-2.5.0-beta2-win32-gtk2 on a 32 bit
windows XP.

I have same system and version and it crashes when moving dialogs on other
players turn. Not on your own turn.
Program has done illegal operation and has to be terminated

Might not be exactly like this but you know that message. (Translated from
finnish).

discoveries would make following the advancement of your civilization, and so
the gameplay, much easier and intriguing.

Generic discovered x researching y goal is z - messages feel total
understatements with advances.
