Follow-up Comment #3, bug #22899 (project freeciv):

It's natural that newly born nation has no embassies.
And original nation should lose embassies of their enemies or continue to have
all embassies.

Or how about allowing users to change this in their ruleset file?

Follow-up Comment #1:

I have checked how has come the loss of embassies. I have found that it was
done in the original civil war patch (committed at revision 941).

For me, this was intentional by the author (revision 6595 seems to assume it's
correct). But, it looks strange to lose all embassies in this case. I
personally think embassies shouldn't be lost.

Another variant would be to lose embassies only from player you're in war
with. It would make sense from your enemy to recognize only the rebel
player...

Details:

When a civil war breaks out,
both original nation and newly born nation loses all embassy.
All the embassies established previously are destroyed.
Is this a intentional limitation or a bug?
