You can add FreeDOS into BOOT.INI of Windaube XP (no idea about Vi$ta
/ 7 / 8) ans you can use METAKERN to boot some other DOS or even
Windaube ME (no test with XP).

Great :-D Seems to be a problem of XP (not of FreeDOS) ...

... nevertheless, you should implement tasks natively inside you app
rather than calling BAT'teries, because they indeed tend to cause
trouble (enviro full, external command not found, error occurred, some
key pressed, hangs for no (?) reason, ...).
