No floppy, I tried CD (booting SpinRite) testing a disk drive for bad spots. The CD/SpinRite does boot on a Dell laptop & desktop. Re: [Freedos-user] Booting FreeDOS on HP desktops?
I need a little more information. I have two HPs (HP Elite 8000 SFF and a DC-5700) The 8000 is in SATA mode for W10 so I have to use the HP/Intel AHCI.SYS driver to "see" the hard drive. The other is in IDE mode and boots with no issues. On Mon, Apr 4, 2016 at 8:56 AM, Wayne Dernoncourtwrote: > Does anyone have any advice about getting FreeDOS to boot on an HP > desktop? [Freedos-user] Booting FreeDOS on HP desktops?
Does anyone have any advice about getting FreeDOS to boot on an HP desktop? I get a message about "Init..." and then nothing happens. I've been trying to get this to work for a two or three months but I haven't had a chance to fool much with this for the past three or four weeks.
