The FAQ, the docs, but not much more.

Did you try *looking* in the distribution?

'dialup_admin', which is included with the server, does most of
that. It's not extremely documented, but it's there.

So... did you READ the message you posted to the list?

I really don't understand what the problem is.

FreeRadius, Where to Begin

2002-08-12 Thread Matt

Is there a step by step guide that would help me to get freeRadius going? I
am using a MikroTik box as a PPPoE server for wireless users and I want it
to authenticate them against freeRadius. I would also like a web page that
I could log into to update the user database and check user bandwidth
useage. Is this all possible with freeRadius?

I installed the latest FreeRadius build on Redhat 7.3 but have been unable
to get anywhere with it. Here is my logfile output.

pico /usr/local/var/log/radius/radius.log
...
Mon Aug 12 19:38:07 2002 : Info: HASH: Reinitializing hash structures and
lists for caching...
Mon Aug 12 19:38:07 2002 : Error: rlm_unix: You MUST specify a shadow
password file!
Mon Aug 12 19:38:07 2002 : Error: HASH: unable to create user hash table.
disable caching and run debugs
Mon Aug 12 19:38:07 2002 : Error: radiusd.conf[462]: unix: Module
instantiation failed.

I am pretty sure I do not have stuff configured yet and that is the problem.

Matt
