This is set on your NAS. Read the documentation for your NAS and it shoudl
tell you how to enable these features.

I think reading rfc2058/59 might help you.

There is no minimal set, but normally you will have something like:

Start: User-Name, NAS-IP-Address, Acct-Status-Type, Acct-Session-Id
Update: Start plus perhaps Acct-Session-Time, Acct-Input-Octets,
Acct-Output-Octets, ...
Stop: Update plus perhaps some disconnect cause attributes...

but that depends on the type of service. Perhaps this is no service
with traffic accounting, or you can't know a cause...

Oliver.

Hello,
I have no hardware NAS.
I am just writing a radius client in Perl, and i am
wondering what the radius server is expecting as
minimal attributes in check items to honour STOP ,
INTERIM UPDATE AND STOP accounting request

When you mean devices , could you please elaborate, sorry
eg, CPE Router, L2TP Router or Radius Server?

Has anyone used the Allied Telesyn Rapier Router with radius Accounting, or
Possibly Interim-Update.
Thanks
Solomon

That's a bit off topic but the answer to your question is the device(s)
that you are collecting accounting on and maintaining state sessions.

Interim-Update

2002-02-04 Thread Solomon Sokolovsky

Hi,

I want to implement Interim-Update for L2TP/PPP
Sessions to collect IP usage of permanent "not dial up" L2TP/PPP tunnels.
What needs to support Interim-Update except the Radius, which does?  The
CPE? The L2TP Router which is the Radius Client?

As much feedback as possible would be
appreciated!

Thanks
Solomon
